We are storytellers, artists, adventurers and community members who believe that stories have power to connect us to people, to nature and to our global community. We believe everyone has a story to tell and that it’s our job to create a platform for those stories to be seen and heard.

Creating a visual story is a process. Whether you know exactly what you want or you are hoping for our suggestions, every client has a unique perspective and comes from a different starting point. We custom tailor our project plans to meet your needs. But our process of telling your most compelling story will often look something like this:

THE PROCESS

Find The “Why”

We want to learn about what you do, how you do it and why you do it. We believe that building relationships is an integral component to telling an authentic story. Through close collaboration with you, we will land on the essence of your story, get a feel for who your audience is, and discover how to engage them with effective storytelling.

Strategy + Proposal

There are many ways to make a video and many details to consider when putting together the logistics - from pre-production through deployment. From conception to delivery, we want to work closely with you. Our philosophy is that emotion is more contagious than information, and if we can help evoke emotion in the viewer, they will listen more closely to your story and will be more likely to share it with others. Your presence and engagement is critical. You are our connection to the inside story. We will help guide the process by coming up with the most effective strategy to creatively tell your story, and build a production plan that fits the narrative, the timeline and your budget.

Budget

Cost for video production varies greatly depending on the scope of the production. We custom bid each project based on your needs. The basis of our pricing starts with how many production days are needed to capture the vision. Many projects can be scaled to fit a variety of budgets and objectives. We also love to help causes that are meaningful to us, and therefore can sometimes offer significant discounts to non profit organizations. Reach out to us and we would be happy to chat about your project and put together a cost proposal for you for free.

The Plan

Pre Production is the phase where we create the plan for production. It includes some or all of the following steps:

Form the narrative arc
Develop script for narration
Casting: select and establish characters
Scout locations
Build shot lists and/ or storyboards
Secure appropriate permits
Select music
Coordinate schedules and locations

The Shoot

Production is the shortest, most expensive, and most highly-weighted stage. We will follow a tight production schedule to make best use of our time. We often start early and stay late to get what we need to tell the story. We prefer, whenever possible, to have someone on your team present during shooting.

The Edit

Post Production begins by logging and backing up all your content; then we go to work turning the footage we shot into a cohesive story based on the exposition from your initial proposal. You will then receive a link to a private client webpage to review your deliverable(s). Each first draft is a polished finished product we feel proud to share. However if there are any changes you would like to see, we will provide you with a second and third draft if needed, until you approve of the final product; at which point we will add a download button to your private page so you can upload to wherever you like.

Deployment

Now is the exciting time when you get to share your video with the world! We can help you create a strategy and work through the technical hurdles to get your video seen.
